This endless cold,
This unforgiving icy air
From which no blanket,
No furnace can save me.
There is no salvation.
My body shudders and shivers,
My mind aches and pleads
For a return to my previous warmth.
That warmth no longer exists:
This climate change is permanent.
Tears cascade my cheek, but they do not freeze into ice;
I pant and wheeze desperately, but my breath does not condense.
My arms wrap around my own body in an attempt to heat myself,
But I am not deprived of heat.
I am deprived of warmth.
Have been ever since that person left
Because with them, they took every bit of wa
