Literature Text

I smell dinner again
And I hear you run downstairs,
Then I wonder if it's right,
If it's even fair
That I keep hidden, secluded,
out-of-sight from everyone
But when I think back on our childhood
We had so much fun!

But we aren't that age anymore...
We can't play like we used to,
So I'll just stay in here and reminisce,
Then I hear the words "I love you"
From the other side of this door
That you come to every day
Like when we were kids and you'd be all
"Let's go outside and play!"

You still tell me stories
And acknowledge that I'm here,
Wish I had the guts to tell you
That you're my brother and you're dear
To me, as you've always been
Nothing's really changed
But knowing that, why do I still
Act like I'm insane?

All cooped-up in this room
As I have been for a while,
But it's okay, because when I come out
I'm sure I'll see your smile,
And I'll run downstairs right with you
When I hear the dinner bell chime,
I'll stop being selfish and realize I can't
Turn back the hands of time
Sequel to "Where Have You Gone?"

Bleh.
